LEENOISE

Aircraft noise requirements for take-off and landing have become major issues in the design of modern transports. LEENOISE, a joint development of AMI and The Boeing Company, is a new computational method that specifically addresses the noise design problem.

LEENOISE calculates fan noise propagation and radiation and includes attenuation by acoustic liners. Accuracy is ensured by solving the linear and non-linear Euler equations in the frequency domain and with the Dispersive Relation Preserving (DRP) finite difference scheme that is fourth order optimized for wave propagation.
